Horizontal safety pump sets – General description
Safety pump sets have been designed to centralise vacuum in all work environments such as hospitals, laboratories, etc. where vacuum must be guaranteed 24/7.
They are essentially composed of:
- A horizontal welded sheet steel tank with perfect vacuum seal.
- Two rotary vane vacuum pumps to be selected according to the required suctionflow rate and level of vacuum.
- A vacuum gauge for a direct reading of the level of vacuum in the tank.
- Two manual valves for vacuum interception, located between the pumps and the tank and one installed on the tank, for the exclusion or connection of the pump set on a user system.
- A cock for condensation drainage.
- A switchgear enclosed in a special watertight metal casing with switches for automatic or manual pump operation, an alarm device with sound and light signal, alarm-test buttons and hour-counter for counting the hours of actual operation of every single pump.
These safety pump sets normally provide for the operation of one pump with subsequent automatic insertion of the second one for larger consumptions and when, for whatever reason, the plant level of vacuum goes under the preset value.
The automatic timed inverter, located on the switchboard, accurately alternates the pump start-up, so that they are both subject to the same mechanical wear.
The switchboard and remote alarm systems operate when the plant level of vacuum is below the set safety value.

Switchgear for safety pump sets with three pumps
The pump set switchgear, is enclosed in a special watertight metal casing andautomatically manages three vacuum pumps, each with a power up to 7.5 KW and maintains the level of vacuum in the tank, set with the two easily-programmable digital vacuum switches, suitable for setting and controlling all vacuum functions.
It is equipped with three remote control switches with thermal protection, fuses, a transformer for low voltage auxiliary command power supply, a line switch, a changeover switches for the automatic or manual pump operation, three digital vacuum switches, two hour-counters for measuring the actual pump operation time, an alarm siren with acoustic and lit signalling, a key selector for any necessary exclusion of the siren, test buttons and signalling lamps. The switchgear is normally provides for the operation of one pump with subsequent automatic insertion of the other two for larger consumptions and when, for whatever reason, the plant level of vacuum goes under the preset value.

Switchgear equipped with touch screen operator panel and plc for pump sets and safety pump sets with two or more pump
The new electrical equipment consists of a touch screen, which is a special electronic device that is the result of combining a screen and a digitizer that allow the user to interact with a graphical interface using their fingers or specific objects.
The touch screen operator panels installed on our Pump sets are human machine interface systems, or rather devices that allow people to control our equipment very easily.
The electrical panel contains command and control equipment, collects the digital signals coming from the vacuum switch to power the vacuum pumps when necessary and is designed for a single-phase 230 Vac 50 Hz and three-phase 400 Vac 50 Hz power supply with an IP 54 protection rating.
Inside is a PLC that manages all the control logics for manual and automatic operation.
